Will Cain Promoted to Weekday Afternoon Slot at Fox News, Replacing Neil Cavuto
NEW YORK (AP) – Fox News Channel has promoted weekend host Will Cain to the weekday afternoon slot previously held by longtime personality Neil Cavuto, who left the network last month.
Cain, who has been hosting the weekend edition of the “Fox & Friends” morning show, will now transition to a new weekday show. A lawyer by profession, Cain previously hosted a radio show and contributed to ESPN’s television programming before joining Fox in 2020. He also worked as an analyst at CNN and was a host at The Blaze.
Weekday shows at Fox are highly coveted, and openings are rare. Cain’s new show will air at 4 p.m. Eastern, directly preceding the political talk show “The Five,” which is often Fox’s most-watched program.
While Cavuto’s show had a business-oriented focus, thanks to his background, Cain’s approach will be different. Cain will continue to host his weekday podcast on news and sports, and Fox says his television show will incorporate some of his podcasting style, potentially featuring more extended interviews.
Cain expressed his enthusiasm, stating that he will use his background in news, law, entertainment, and business to help viewers better understand the day’s headlines through insightful content and analysis. His new show is set to debut next Tuesday.
Fox contributor Charlie Hurt will take over Cain’s previous role on the weekend “Fox & Friends,” starting this Saturday.
