"Bird Stuck on the Wing" — Final Message Sent to Family
A devastating plane crash in South Korea has claimed the lives of all but two passengers. Just moments before the crash, one passenger on board the ill-fated plane sent a chilling message to their family, stating, "A bird is stuck on the plane's wing."
The Korea Herald reported on the incident on Sunday (December 29).
The family member who received the message shared that it arrived at 9 AM local time. After receiving it, they were unable to establish further contact with the passenger.
The message, according to the relative, read: "A bird is stuck on the wing. We can't land. This is happening right now. Before I die, can I say my final words?"
The fate of the passenger who sent the message remains unknown.
The crash occurred earlier this morning as the Jeju Air Boeing 737 aircraft, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members, veered off the runway while attempting to land at Muan International Airport. The plane immediately caught fire, prompting swift action from fire service teams.
The aircraft was returning from Thailand, and rescue operations are ongoing. Out of the 181 people on board, only two have been rescued alive so far. The remaining 179 passengers have been confirmed dead, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency.
